The Santa Monica College Media Technology Campus housing Design Technology Department is an expansion of the existing Academy of Entertainment Technology (AET) campus that will accommodate a 430 vehicle parking garage, site improvements that include a cafe and central courtyard as well as new homes for the college Communication and Design Technology departments and KCRW radio station.
The fully renovated AET, replete with classrooms, student lounges and faculty offices, will operate as an arrival point for new media students and as an incubator of new ideas. The New Media Technology addition, housing production facilities and editing suites will continue the story with an emphasis on experimentation and discovery. Connecting all the experiences is the creative arena of the central courtyard where a cafe, supportive landscaping and event infastructure will enable all programs to publicly converge into a single creative community.
